I’m Tara, a Speech-Language Pathologist with a passion for helping children become confident readers, communicators, and learners.

I earned my Master of Arts in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Northern Iowa and spent 10 years working as a school-based Speech-Language Pathologist with Keystone Area Education Agency. During those years, I had the opportunity to work with children with a wide variety of communication and learning needs.raph content.

Throughout my career as an SLP, I developed a particular interest in the connection between language and literacy, including research surrounding dyslexia and the language skills that support reading. I have also pursued additional training in Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) and Autism, allowing me to better support children with diverse communication needs.content.

In the summer of 2026, I completed specialized training to become a Dyslexia Tutor, further expanding my knowledge of evidence-based literacy instruction and the needs of students with dyslexia.

Why Literacy & Language?

Reading and language have always been a passion of mine. I believe that when a child struggles to read, spell, understand language, or communicate, there is often more happening beneath the surface.

My goal is to look beyond “What is this child struggling with?” and ask: “Why?”

Through comprehensive literacy and language evaluations, I want to help families better understand their child's unique strengths and challenges. My hope is that each evaluation provides families and educators with meaningful information they can use to help a child move forward—with the right support, instruction, and confidence.

Every child deserves the opportunity to find their voice, discover the joy of reading, and feel successful as a learner. I’m honored to help them along the way.
